The City is distanced about 20 kmts from Kolhapur, towards Maharashtra – Karnataka border, which makes it convenient place for nearby students in Karnataka as well. Kagal has multiple Sugar factories in its territory and it is located 5 kmts from five star MIDC, Kolhapur. Kagal, the birth place of Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj & it has strong Political base, rich in agriculture, a hub for education, arts & sports for nearby Talukas.

The Kagal Education Society’s Y. D. Mane Institute of Technology Pvt. ITI is one of the technical institutes in Kagal, Dist. Kolhapur, Maharashtra State (MS, India). This Institute is established in August 2019. Total 3 ITI trades with two shifts (Electrician, Fitter & Draughtsman Civil) are available in this institute which is approved by Govt. of Maharashtra & Affiliated to DGT & NCVT, New Delhi.
